Rep. John C. Bear (R-Lancaster) will be holding an Electric Choice One-Stop Shop Event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Jewish Community Center at 2120 Oregon Pike, Lancaster to help constituents learn more about the whole new world of electric choice and deregulation, speak directly to the new suppliers of electricity in our area about program offerings, and exercise their option to sign up for the supplier of their choice!

“Electricity rate caps are ending for many consumers. As a result, local consumers are experiencing significant increases to their electric bills,” said Bear.  “If you want to know more about why rates are changing or why it might be a good idea to consider switching electricity suppliers, attend this informational session on electric choice.”

Event participants will include Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman James Cawley, spokespeople from electricity suppliers new to the Pennsylvania energy market and representatives from other agencies. Each will provide information and answer questions about electricity rates, electric choice and the reasons for the removal of rate caps.

Bear encourages consumers to educate themselves and decide whether to stay with their current electricity provider or switch suppliers. This event is an opportunity to learn what the options are and understand how best to save on utility bills.  Interested persons are welcome to attend and can RSVP to (717) 626-1776.
